AI, wearables, mobile devices, self-driving cars, digital assistants, VR, and AR are all tech trends that have crossed over from the “future” to everyday smart devices and cryptography. What do they all mean?

They are here, and some make no sense, but let’s dive in anyway! Let’s start with some AI, just because it’s a fascinating subject and there are so many smart devices coming out now in the tech trend arena.

AI Washing machines

Wouldn’t we all like to just throw our clothes in the washing machine and be done with it? That is a possibility today. Worry-free washing tech trends.

The washing machines sense the laundry weight and level of soiling on the clothes and know how to use the right amount of detergent and water, as well as how long to actually wash the clothes.

The error wizard notifies you of any errors and gives tips on how to get your wash done faster. It will also notify you when was completed

AI Lawnmower

AI lawnmowers are the next big tech trend in garden gadgets. Artificial intelligence could mean the end of annoying garden chores – and a landscape to die for!

They are a bit pricey and bulky right now but will get better with time. Just set it and forget it.

This is ideal for the older person who can no longer do their own lawn. You buy the lawn mower to match the specifications of your lawn. Some have longer battery life; some have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

They run very quietly, and some have self-leveling technology to go over the bumpy areas of your lawn.

I guess the biggest concern is that someone will come along and grab it!

AI Vacuum cleaner

AI vacuum cleaners are becoming commonplace, so maybe they shouldn’t be on the Tech Trends list. In the next few years, we will see a good replacement for vacuum cleaners

The difference now is that they are very precise and they use cameras to make the 3-D map, which means that they are always updating and perfecting their maps in order to clean more efficiently.

They have wet mopping now and are self-cleaning. This is a perfect example of tech getting better and better.

Uh Oh – new flash – some robots have been taking pictures inside of people’s homes…….hmmmmm

Kitchen devices overall are becoming smarter and smarter, and refrigerators are an example of that so added to this tech trend list.

You can view the temperature and contents of your refrigerator on your phone.

Refrigerators have evolved, and now they not only keep food safe, but they can be monitored through an app

How many times have you come back from the grocery store only to find out you missed something?

AI Personal Robots

This tech trend category might be a little bit creepy. We’ve all been scared by sci-fi shows.

I cannot get beyond this one particular personal robot. These robots have a long way to go with how they look and feel.

It can be a great tool for kids to learn technology or to have as a pet.

They can go check on things in your home and send you notifications on where everyone is. It’s almost like having Siri walk around with you, taking all your commands. In addition, the robot has a camera on it that can take pictures and videos of anything that is happening around it, which is an innovative idea.

There are some robots that can walk with you in the store and carry your bags. Some other robots just do snow removal, which could be helpful.

Someday they could have a robot that might be able to help you around the house, like doing dishes. I’m not sure these robots have hit prime time yet.

AI Personal Trainer

You may not immediately think of personal trainers when you think of tech trends. The health industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, and advancements are being made every day.

Imagine having someone on your team who knows what you’re eating and what your habits are. They know and understand where your weaknesses are and what your goals are, and they’re constantly pushing you to take steps in the right direction.

Everything is customized to you, your body, your needs, and your goals. It helps you get out of a rut and gives lots of different exercises to help along the way to keep it interesting and keep you focused. You don’t have to go to the gym or have a membership; this is all in your own space. You can focus on whatever area you want to improve upon.

Related Tech trend is an interactive home gym with many workout partners and fitness machines. You can be as interactive as you want to be. 

Go live online with a group or have recorded sessions. Has automatic weight adjustment to your own workout as far as and very much digital tracking. It is fully interactive and you’ll have many different trainers to work with so you’ll never be bored.

You will have access to live or on-demand classes to join other people online at the same time as well. It creates a 3D model of your body so it tracks changes as things that are specific to you. you can also join a monthly subscription plan which would give you extra features.

AI Personal Assistants

Personal assistants are gaining traction as a tech trend among folks that have their own companies and need a little bit of administrative help. 

In the future, we will see more and more AI assistants in the workplace. They will take over some of the tasks that are usually done by human employees.

One of these tasks is providing assistance to other employees. For example, an AI assistant might help a salesperson close a deal by finding out what their clients need and then suggesting solutions.

Another task is generating content for different purposes. For example, an AI assistant might generate content for a website or social media account when it needs to be updated with fresh content on a regular basis.

AI Home Security

AI home security is an emerging tech trend that will protect homes from intruders. It provides a solution to the problem of burglars who can easily get into a house when the homeowner is not at home.

The AI home security system has 3 main components: sensors, cameras, and alarms. Sensors are placed on doors and windows to detect if someone tries to break in. Cameras are installed in strategic locations around the house for perimeter surveillance. Lastly, an alarm system alerts homeowners when someone breaks in or when there is a fire or other emergency situation in the home.

Metaverse

This Tech Trend we probably have heard a little too much about. This is probably one of the biggest buzzwords we’ve been here for a while and Facebook loves it that way.

It can’t be dismissed though because it is such a fascinating look at what you can do in the future can you imagine having a storefront in the metaverse and what you would do to have people come and buy from you in the metaverse?

Changes everything from marketing to owning real estate in the metaverse. We may not be close to seeing this fully come into a business model but it is something we need to keep our eyes on make sure we understand what this actually is.

The definition itself is a collective virtual shared space, created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space, including the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented reality, and the internet.

It is a cyber environment that is completely synchronized with our current time and physical world. It is a space where we can share ideas, communicate with others in real-time, and explore new worlds. The future of technology will be shaped by this new type of internet.

Metaverse Gear

You can use a large number of devices to enter the metaverse.

It is important to remember that PCs, whether laptops or smartphones, are not really designed for the immersion effect. Virtual reality goggles and augmented reality gear essentially feed the metaverse right into your field of vision.

Input devices then give you the ability to interact with that digital world. You can also have full body gear, which gives you bodily sensations. Sensations that normally occur in conjunction with your view can now be experienced by other parts of your body

Of course, we’ve all heard of the Oculus Quest; I have one myself, which is the goggle experience. There are other headsets out there as well, including the Valve Index, the Sony PlayStation VR, and a couple of others.

Metaverse Games

The whole immersion experience is a game itself, but there are specific games that can be quite interesting.

You can also chat with your family members who are far away in the Avatar format and visit worlds together. You can attend events like concerts together.

Facebook offers a “rec room,” where you can gather, socialize, and play a number of games together. This tech trend could be how we spend quality time with faraway families in the future.

Also, I’ve been able to do some online painting, or you can just use any kind of medium you want to create art; there’s no mess! Another popular one is called Second Life, where you can go online and have a second life that’s purely digital, make it look as real as you want, go to events, and essentially live another life in a virtual world.

 IOT(Internet of Things)

This Tech Trend is for my folks in the manufacturing arena. This is a big buzzword for me being in the chemical manufacturing industry where you’re constantly dealing with parts and Manufacturing lines that could break down

The IOT is a network of devices that are connected to each other and can share data with one another. These devices are often connected to the internet, which means that they can collect data from sensors and upload them to a cloud storage system for analysis.

This data can then be used for predictive analytics or as feedback for any automated process, such as an autonomous vehicle or manufacturing line.

IOB (Internet of Behavior)

Related to the above Tech Trends the next logical step of IOT the Internet of Things is to understand the internet of behavior or IOB.

The Internet of Behavior is a term that describes the way in which people’s online and offline behaviors are linked together. In this context, it refers to how your digital footprint is connected to your real-world actions.

This linkage is also referred to as “behavioral targeting” or “online behavioral advertising”. It has been used by marketers for years to target ads at specific users, depending on their browsing history or other data collected about them.

The downside of this method is that it can be seen as invasive and manipulative, especially when there are no clear rules about how personal information can be collected and used.

Chat GPT and Dall-E 2

Hold onto your hats folks this is next-level stuff. This is a new processing tool that uses AI to understand and respond in a natural language dialog.

I will be doing a post just on this because it is a game-changer in the industry for sure. Check it out in the meantime!

The same goes for Dall-E 2 written by the same company. It allows you to use natural language text to prompt the AI tool to return images. Beautifully detailed and amazing fast. Stay tuned for more.

 AR (Augmented Reality)

This is one of my favorites Tech Trends. Augmented reality is a technology that overlays virtual objects onto the real world.

Some examples of augmented reality are:

– Pokémon GO

– Snapchat Filters

– Google Translate

– Snapchat Lenses

Websites like IKEA use it to allow customers to visualize how furniture will look in their homes before they buy it. There are some cases where augmented reality can be eye contact lenses which give you information as you’re speaking with an in a meeting see if data flowing to you that you can see but nobody else can. Very futuristic!

BlockChain

Blockchain is an emerging technology that is changing the way we think about data storage and transactions. It has the potential to change how we do business, interact with governments, and share information.

Blockchain is a type of distributed ledger that was originally designed to keep track of Bitcoin transactions. But it can be used for other types of data too. It can help us manage our personal identities, votes in elections, intellectual property, and more.

The part I like is the distributed record of transactions so there can be no fraud. Look for this to take more of a role in 2023.

3D printing

3D printing is a process that creates three-dimensional objects from a digital model.

This technology is not just for hobbyists and inventors anymore. It is used in many different industries, such as aerospace, architecture, automotive, education, engineering, fashion, food, and design.

3D printers are now being used to create everything from toys to human organs.

3D printers are becoming faster and faster and cheaper and cheaper just the way technology usually rolls so look for this to continue to become mainstream.

Genomics

Genomics is an important field because it can help us understand our own genetic makeup, which can be used to help diagnose diseases early on or even prevent them from happening at all.

The most recent breakthroughs in genomics have been made possible through new technology and research methods. Genome sequencing has become easier to do and cheaper to do as a result of these breakthroughs.

There are now many startups and organizations that are using genomics for their business model. For instance, 23andMe is a company that provides genetic testing services for health and ancestry information.

I feel like we need to move forward in this area in a carefully controlled way.

 Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is one of my favorites Tech trends as well I always remember being fascinated with the movie INNERSPACE (1987) – check it out!

Nanotechnology is a field of engineering and science that deals with the study and application of extremely small things. It is the study of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale.

Nanotechnology is one of the most rapidly growing fields in science and engineering. It has been widely used in many industries like aerospace, automotive, electronics, and health care. Nanotechnology is also being applied to new areas such as agriculture, energy storage, and quantum computing.

New Energy Solutions

The world is becoming increasingly aware of the need for sustainable energy. This need has led to the development of new green energy trends.

In recent years, we have seen a rise in the use of solar power and wind power. These renewable energy sources are more environmentally-friendly and don’t require any fuel to operate. They are also more cost-effective than other types of energy sources, such as coal and oil.

We have also seen an increase in the use of electric vehicles and hybrid cars in many countries around the world. These vehicles reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and help us save money on fuel costs by using less gasoline or diesel fuel per mile traveled.

One of the coolest items on the tech trend list. these are really cool I wish I would have had these when I was back in high school.

Tech trend for us old people – we need to really pay attention to our health and our sleep is so important to how we feel during the day and how productive we are.

The smart mattress industry is still in its early stages, but it’s growing rapidly as more companies enter the space. The most common use cases for these products are to improve sleep quality, reduce snoring, detect heart-rate variability, reduce morning stiffness and track sleep habits.

Mattresses are the most purchased household items in the US. A major reason for this is that people need to replace their mattresses every 8-10 years.

I love this Tech Trend on hydroponics Trend I have a little Garden on my windowsill that is only with water and drops of liquid food for my herb plants

With this evolution, smartphones have gone from being simple communication devices to pocket computers and entertainment hubs.

We all know most of the players here and each rendition has more and more value and more features just have to figure out what is your priority.

Web Cams

Another remote worker Tech Trend!

Cloud Computing

The future of the internet is going to be more connected, more intelligent, and more responsive to individual needs. This is where the need for smart infrastructure comes in.

The internet is making the transition from a physical network of computers to a more abstract, cloud-based system.

Cloud computing is a type of Internet hosting where data and computer programs are stored on the internet rather than on personal computers or company servers.

Maybe it’s a little bit scary to have your data out there in the cloud but it really is managed better and it’s a way to move forward in the future

5G 

5G is a new technology that will replace the current 4G LTE network. It will enable faster internet speeds and better coverage. As more and more devices are added to the network 5G is going to be indispensable in the growth of how we use data and how we network together.

Data throughput itself should reach up to 20 Gigabytes per second which I know doesn’t sound like you know massive but there are so many more mobile devices and with what we talked about earlier with the Internet of Things this is a game-changer as far as how we all work together and connect to the same network.

 WIFI 6 and 7 

Just so we are all clear on the speeds we are talking about for WIFI standards:

WiFi 5: WiFi 5 is the current standard. It was released in December 2018 and it can provide up to 1.6 Gbps speeds.

WiFi 6: WiFi 6 is the next generation of WiFi technology and it has the potential to provide up to 11 Gbps speeds.

WiFi 7: WiFi 7 is the newest version of WiFi technology and it has the potential to provide up to 22 Gbps speeds.

The second improvement is improved coverage. The new standard for WiFi uses more channels than before, which means that it can offer a more complete coverage area for your home than previous generations could offer. If you have been frustrated by weak signals from your current router, this might be a good time to invest in a new one with all the latest features!

This tech trend has not been a US phenomenon. These are mostly used overseas –
